Messts Abraham and Williams report as follows : — Since last report we have held sales at Daunevirke, Wood7ille, Pahiatua, Otaki and Palmerstou. At Dannevirke, last Friday, we had a large yarding of cattle, but a small entry of sheep. Several lots of cioequality. dairy heifers were offered, but the demand was limited, a number failing to reach owner's expectations. The balance of the cattle sold at rates equal to. larger entries. A pen of extra quality fat cows, sold on behalf of Messrs Cowper and Knight, mado £8 ss. At Danaevirke.; — 2^-yr steers, £2 7s 6d;2yr steers, £3 17s 6d ; fat cows, £8 os ; ISiuos empty heifers, £2 18s ; springing heifers, £6 10s to £1 ; weaners, 36s to £2 4s 9d ; forward ewes, 12s 9d ; weaner pigs, Bs. At Pahiatua. —Cattle ": 3yr steers £0 12s, 2 and 2^yr steers £4 95,,2yr steers £4 Is, good Shorfchfru yearlings £3 10s 6d, others L2ss to L 2 13s 6d, yearling Shorthorn heifers L 2 5s 6d, springing heifers L 4 12s 6d to L 7, dairy cows L 5 to L 6 10s, weaners 28s to 37s 6d. Shr-ep : Forward wethers lla 6d, hoggets 7s 4d. At Palnr.eraton. — At Palmerston yesterday we had a full yatding of sheep, and a very full entry of cattlo, both classes of stock being largely in excess of advertised numbers. The Bli3ep included a good many peus of prime ewes, which ajet with a poor demand, anJin most cases owners hai to submit to prices considerably below their expectations. Generally all round the demand was poor, both for cattle and sheep, and the recent, cold weather spemed to have paralysed business. However, the bulk of the entry eventually changed hands. Quotations: — Prime ewes 12s Id to 14s, lighter do., 10s 4d to 11s 9d, sound hoggets 7s to 7s lOd, cull boggets 4s 6d, forward bullocks £7 5s to LB, 3yr steors L 5 15s, L 5 16s, L 6, fat heifers (light), L6 l7s 6d, 2yr gtoers L 3 10s to L 4 3s, yearling stoers LI 19s 6d to L36s, weavers LI 6s to Ll 15s, springing heifers L 5 to L 6 2s 6d, backward heifers L 4 5s to L 4 17s 6d, store cows L 3 7s to L 4, yearliug heifers L 2 18s to L 3 Us. At Otaki on Wednesday last entrips were far in excess of advertised numbers, there was a good af tendance, and a good demand for all classes of stock.
