Rugby Uuion at their uieeting on Thursday night appeared ia yesterdays Napier Telegraph : — That tke repoit of the match Dajmevirke North School v. Marist Bros., appearing in the Dannevirke " Advocate " has been brought before this uniou ; tbat this union bas tnado inquiry from the referee appointed to conduct the match in question, and also other reliable people who were present, and is quite satisfied tbat the charges made in the report are absolutely groundless. This union -regrets excedinglr that such au account of the match in question has been allowed to appear in the public Press as nothing is more calculated to engender bad feeliug amongst players, and to prevent school competitions takingplace in future, and that the Dannevirke papers be asked to give publicity to this motion. —^— i — — — p— ymmmm
