(per pkess association.) Wellington, This day. The Gazette further prorogues Parliament until 15th Feb. The prorogation is only formal. Tha case against Thomas for perjury on being retried fell through as it was made to appear that prisoner might not have known it wa3 promisary notes he was accused of signing. Kirk got 12 months (or attempting to abscond ; the other charges were abandoned. Edwin Howell, journalist, who had recently arrived from Auckland was remanded there on a warrant charging him with false pretences.
