Nutmegs have strong narcotic properties. A pint of tea made from two nutmegs, if drunk by an invalid, will produoe a sleep of many hours' duration. The symptoms will be about the same aa those occasioned by opium. Nutmegs in the quantity of two or throe drachms will cause both stupor and delirium.
