During last month ths estates of twenty-one deceased persons were placed in the hands of the Public Trustee for administration. The largest was that of Bobt. P. Levien, of Nelson, of the value of £20,000.
Mr Seddon has had no communication from Lord Glasgow with regard to his recommendation for knighthood, and is inclined to doubt the news, feeling that His Excellenoy would be likely to consult him before taking suoh steps. Councillor Worth, who was defeated in the mayoral election, has resigned hig saat in the City Council.
