At the Danevirko Police Court this morning, before Messrs Clayion and Hawkins, Justices, a young woman was charged with being drunk yesterday. It was her first offence, and she was ordered to be kept in custody till the departure of the train for Palmerston, to whioh place she wished to go. Andors Johanson pleaded guilty to being drunk and disordei'ly on July 9, nnd was fined 10s, and costs 7a, or in default 48 hours imprisonment. At Manchester Batgor won tho Quarter-njilo Hurdles from tho soratch in 59 5-4 sec. P. Wuod was third. Father Koegan will celebrate mass at tho Schoolhouso, Danevirko, at 11 a.m. to-morrow. At Woatport yeatorday Mm W. Campbell and Mrs Andrew MoClusty, sisters, went out for a drive, accompanied by two of tho children of the latter. Crossing a bridge the trap fell into tho water, with the result that Mrs MoClusty aud the two children wej-e, tUvwoed. {
