H.B. RABBIT BOARD.
The following report was read at Thursday's meeting of the Babbit Board : — Inspector M'Pherson reports thatj he went over portion of Kaitoki (several traces), along the Manawatu river, and back through the middle of the I run (no signs), section in Otope I "Valley (traces on W. Q-. Hunter's), Martin's (killed one), T. H. Hunter's (traces near boundary and at head of Otope oreek), Haggard's (traces and started one), | south of fence, Stewart's (many traces), M. Franklin's (traces), Warm's, Eastbreok's and M'Leod's (many signs, gave'notice to poison), Bloomfield, ICelvin Grove (muny traoos), Wimbledon, Farnhani, over Peaks and Herbert's Mount, sections at Taputahi (few signs), J. Cripps', Ward's (several traces), Liteman's (started one, several killed lately), Purupuru, Cape portion of Tautane (only four killed in four months), Woodback, Burnview, 3?ipi bank (few traces), sections near Wimbledon (few killed recently), Weber, Waipatiki, Bogle's (fresh traces), Oporae, Eochforts's (started one), laid poison in Gorge Creek, Whitehead's, Guy's (traods), Kumeroa, Fountaine's Otope, (laid poison at T. H. Hunter' s ), Oringi, Takapau, native lands (started one), Eakautatahi (many traces, gave notice to natives), Danevirke. He had been over the whole of the fence and found it generally in good order. During the last two months he had BGGU rabbits and traces in many fresh places, and attributed this to shortness of the grass and the thistles being dried up ; he noticed that the rabbits appear on every patch of burnt bush in Weber, Wimbledon, and Tahoraite survey districts.
