MAKOTUKU VESTRY.
A meeting of the above Vestry was held at the residence of the llev, T. J. Wills on Monday evening at 8 p.m. Present— the Rev. T. J. Wills (chair), and Messrs- Brabazon, Friberg, Fergusson, Plank, and VVykes. Mr Friberg presented the report of ♦lie Ladies' Committee, which showed the net proceeds of the social to t>B £(i 4s. , On the motion of Messrs Friberg , and Wykes a hearty vote of thanks was accorded ♦he ladies for their in- , terest and support. Mr Brabazon repcrted that he had illO to hand over to ths treasurer ns ' one quarter's subscriptions to the J church fund. On the motion of Messrs Brabazon and Fergusson it .vas decided to keep ■ the money subscribed quarterly in a ■ separata fund, to be wholly devoted i to stipend. Mr Friberg reported having conveyed to the Bishop the resolution , passed at the parishioners meeting. , The Vestry decided to endorse the action of the parishioners, and to ' officially express their wish that the , Rev. T. J. Wills should be perma- , nently stationed in this district. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Miss Robinson the organ ; ist, on the motion of Messrs JWykes ' and Plank. Several members spoke 1 very hisjhly of the great help Miss 1 Robinson had been to the church. Mr Friberg alluded to the some- • what sudden death of Mrs Hobbs, of . Hastings. He said most of the Vestry . would remember Mr Hnbbs, and • would sympathise with him in his i heavy affliction. He moved that the Vpstry express its sincere sympathy with the Rev. J. Hobbs in his bereave- [ mer.t. This was seconded by Mr '. Fergusson and carried. ( Accounts amounting to 13s 4d were passed. ', This was all the business.
