CHURCH MATTERS.

(To-Thh Editor,)

Sir,— The Rev. Mr ' Robcrtshawe announced, last : Sabbath night thati his subject for next Sabbath evening will be "Popular .Amusements/ Now, .sir," there are a great number of young men who wish to' hear the rev. gentleman's views Opon this subject, comprising, as it no dou'bt 1 will; his •opinions upon cricket,.fobtball,..ennis, dancing, horse racing, gambling,-. etc.. But they also. wish to hear -that, popular preacher and lecturer Mr Knott-, who is expected to .preach in the Presbyterian Church next Sunday : evening. It is only natural that a large number of our. townspeople will be anxious to hear Mr Knott, and be .compelled to forgo the -pleasure of hearing Mr Robertslnuvo, whose plain and outspoken sermons upon these practical everyday matters have of late become so profitable i\\\d interesting. Could not Mr Robc.v.j*hawe postpone the delivery r,_ nis sermon pn^this subject until Sabbath night week, when I feel sure he will be amply rewarded for his kindness byseeing his Church full to listen to his sermon upon a subject that cannot fail to be both interesting and instructive.-. Trusting that he will see his, way clear to do this,— l am, etc., Pro Bono Pun woo.
