END OF THE SYDNEY STRIKE.

Sydney, Jan. 3.
The great anti-Chinese strike has been settled at last through Mr» Lockbead. The terms of arrangement which have been agreed-to by directors of the A.S.N. Company on the one hand and the malcontent seamen on the other are as follows: —(1.) All men are to return, as far as possible, to their former positions in the service of the Company. The Company is to retain the services of 180 Chinese, which number is to be reduced to 120 within a period'of three months from Jan. 1,18*9. Allpvages due on Nov. 18 to the men who were. On strike to be paid in full by the Company. (4.) Ship’s discharges in the customary form to be given in all cases where it may be found necessary. An agreement embodying these terms has been formally received by the representatives on both sides, and the men will return to work immediately.
