BELLS

Prize-winning Poem by Frances Bell (17) Clang, clang, clang, goes the school bell, As it rings on the last school day, And now our thoughts are turned to the next two months, The time for fun and play. Ting, ling,'ling, goes the shop bell, As we rush to buy gifts for our friends, And our thoughts this time are of Christmas trees, And the toys that Santa sends. Ding, dong, dong, goes the church bell, As there we all take a seat, And we think of the Child in the Manger— The Babe that's so pure and so sweet. And with these bells there's another, A bell that rings for peace. And our constant thought for the future is That war will forever cease!
