CAR COLLIDES WITH POLE
Three occupants of a car which collided with a telegraph pole at St. Heliers about four o'clock yesterday morning were admitted to the Auckland Hospital suffering from concussion and abrasions. They were:— Flying-Officer Clarence Harold Howard, aged 27, a member of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, of 98, Richmond Street, Petone; Miss Ngaire Kealy, aged 21, single, of 113, Park Road. Grafton, a Wren attached to H M.N.Z.S. Philomel; and Mr. Owen Armitage, aged 25, single, a clerk, of 117, Rcckfield Road, Ellerslie. The condition of all three to-day was cptiQfflPtnrv The car left the road in Parkside Street, and was extensively damaged when it crashed into the pole. A number of telegraph lines were brought down as the result of the smash, and some telephones in the district were out of order (i the day.
