FIERCE ATTACKS
INDO CHINA "WAR" Indian Forces Pushing On From Saigon Rec. 11 a.m. SAIGON, Oct. 25. Gurkhas occupied Thuduc, eight miles north-east of Saigon, and then pushed on ten miles. They encountered fierce opposition when they repulsed an Annamese counterattack at night. Japanese troops are reported to be sweeping over the area south of Cholon. Japanese, who have been captured disguised as Annamese, have been handed over to their own army for execution, while the Annamese are being tried by summary court-martial, which is constantly in session. , , British security squads have been rounding up the Japanese Consulate staff, who have been living unmolested at Saigon. Members of the German Consulate staff will also be taken into custody. An earlier Indo.-China communique reports acts of terrorism in Saigon and incendiary attacks on buildings. Indian troops continued operations north of Saigon, occupying two areas without opposition. A steel factory and other buildings in these areas yesterday were set on fire. Annamese during the night started seven fires. Japanese squads, fighting the outbreaks, were subjected to heavy fire by snipers.
