CZECH REFUGEES Twenty-Three Bodies Found In Wreckage Rec. 11 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 7. Twenty-three bodies were recovered from the wreckage of a Liberator which crashed at midday on Friday near Hartley Witney, Hampshire. The victims were mostly Czech refugees returning to their homeland: Five members of the crew were killed. Two women and two children among the 18 passengers were given seats by men who volunteered to wait till a later plane. The Liberator crashed soon after taking off, hurtling in flames. The passenger list recorded only 17 names, but the body of an 18th person was found in the wreckage. The body is believed to be that of the wife of a member of the crew, Flight-Sergeant Sedlak. Mrs. Sedlak has been missing from her home since October 5. She is aged 19 and went to Britain as a refugee from Czechslovakia.
