"LILY" AIRSTRIP photographed during teats in Britain. This floating island, invented by Mr. R. H. Hamilton, consists of hexagonal buoyancy drums hinged together to form a flexible landing surface for aircratt at s , 520 feet long and 60 feet across. The picture shows " Lily " moving up and down with the waves "l?" t ■ motor launch passing at speed. Aircraft are able to land and take off despite the motion of the strip.
