TAXING OF LOW INCOMES
The proposal of the Secretary of the United States Treasury to free persons on low income.., from taxation is one that should appeal to the legislators of this country. The taxing of low incomes is driving people on to the bread };ne. Tins is particularly the ca.-,e with elderly persons whose small incomes from life savings are taxed. Persons over CO years of age with incomes under t2OC per year should be entitled to draw the universal pension, and not have to wait till 65. EX-JUMO.
