DISPOSAL. OF ASSETS The building fund of the Remuera Returned Services' Social Club has been augmented by a donation of £330 from- A Company, Remuera Home Guard Battalion and the company's ladies' auxiliary. Three years ago the company received contributions from the residents of Remuera to the extent of £320 for the purpose of a large caravan for conversion to a mobile field kitchen. This sum was increased by a further £150 raised by members of the company through their own efforts, while the ladies' auxiliary had a balance of over £30 as a result of their activities, after paying for stretchers and medical equipment.
The field kitchen, which was capable of supplying 300 hot meals at a time, was disposed of to two returned servicemen for use in their business. The medical stores have been /donated to the St. John Ambulance and several camouflage nets, the work of the ladies' auxiliary, and kitchen - equipment were presented to the boy scout movement ii\ Rem[uerai
