WIVES FROM BRITAIN

PASSENGERS BY AKAKOA

A party of New Zealand airmen and their dependents, together with the wives of a number of Army servicemen, will arrive at Auckland on Monday by the liner Akaroa from Liverpool. In addition to wives who are accompanying their husbands, there are others whose husbands have come to New Zealand ahead ot them.

A Mayoral reception is to be tendered the new arrivals at the City Council chamber in the Town Hall at 10.30 a.m. on Monday. They will be guests at morning tea and the children in the party will be presented with toys.

Among airmen accompanied by their wives are Squadron-Leader J. K. reDeveraux and Flight-Lieutenant R. B. Pulham, both of Auckland. The following are wives of airmen who have already returned to New Zealaml.— Mrs. E. J. Dixon, wife of Flying-Officer E. J. Dixon (Okaihau, North Auckland), Mrs. D. S. Forsyth, wife of Wari antOfflcer D. S. Forsyth (Oropi, Tauranga), Mrs. L. B. Lapwood, wife of Fly'PgOfflCer L. B. Lapwood (Tuakau); Mrs. E. L. Looker, wife of Fll gh Se reeant E. L. Looker (Hamilton); Mrs. P. M. Oliver, wife of Flying-Officer P. M. Oliver (Morrinsville). Mrs. F. N. Hitchcock, wife of WarrantOfficer F. N. Hitchcock, and Mrs. A. U. Leech, wife of Flying-Officer A. G. Leech (Gisborne), have preceded their husbands. Another passenger is Mrs. C. !"• Forsyth, widow of Flying-Officer C. L. M. Forsyth (Oropi, Tauranga),. She lias one child.
