It is gratifying to know that the Government has recognised the unfairness of taxing the life savings of elderly people with small incomes. The exemption of £13G 10/ for a single person, and £214 10/ for a married couple will be appreciated by and helpful to a large number of elderly people, and I trust it will be retrospective. Elderly people should write to the member for their district and place their financial position before him. THRIFT.
