BALLOTS INVALID
TWO GLASGOW MEMBERS
Rec. 2.30 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 24. The House of Commons' Select Committee has recommended that the election of the Glasgow members, Mr. John Forman and Mrs. Jean Mann, for Springburn and Qoatbridge, respectively, in the recent ballot, should be invalidated on the ground that at the time both held offices under the Crown. The committee reported that it was satisfied that, they incurred disqualification inadvertently and recommended legislation to relieve them of pecuniary penalties and also to • validate their election. Mr. Eorman and - Mrs. Mann are members of the Government Housing Committee at Glasgow, and received a fee for each sitting of the committee.
