BRITISH LABOUR PLEDGED

Rec. 10 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 23. Lord Strabolgi, in a speech at the British Palestine Club, said: "The Labour Government is bound by every obligation of honour and national interest to facilitate the establishment of a Jewish national home in Palestine. lam confident that this will be a long-term policy to be carried out as soon as the general situation is clearer." A short-term policy should be to permit a reasonable number of homeless survivors, of Nazi persecution to emigrate to Palestine. The best solution would be to allow Palestine to become a self-govern-ing Dominion. Lord Strabolgi said that he was sure this would be the solution eventually arrived at.
