SISTER GOES TO STUD
Duke Royal, who will race in the maiden event at Avondale, has been showing pace on the Ellerslie track. He was withdrawn from the Avondale Guineas because he was not sufficiently forward in his preparation but owner-trainer W.Grey has him In good fettle, and the full-brother to Royal Duchess has engagements in "lassies ahead. He has been unplaced in six starts to date. ... Royal Duchess, an Oaks winner, will visit the Donatello stallion Marble Favrn next week. She has been an unlucky mare in her racing, and it will be interesting to see how she does as a matron. Black Polly, dam of Royal Duchess and Duke Royal, is in foal to Robin Goodfellow.
