BROKEN GLASS DANGER
FIRE BRIGADE AND VJ DAY
It had been fortunate that there were no outbreaks of fire in the main area of the city on the two days of peace celebrations, commented ..the chairman of the Auckland Afetropolitan Fire Board. Mr. B. Brigham, at a meeting of the beard yesterday.
"If there had been a fire in Queen Street," he said, "it would not have been possible for the machines to get to it owing to the quantity of broken glass lying about. Fortunately, the services of the brigade were not required."
