WATERSIDER'S CLAIM
SETTLEMENT REACHED
A complete settlement by the parties concerned was made this morning in the case brought by Thomas Frank Carey (Mr. Finlay) against the Union Steam Ship Co., Ltd. (Mr. Hamer), for damages totalling £1660 18/. The hearing of the case in the Supreme Court was not resumed.
The claims originated in injuries suffered by Carey while unloading oil drums from a ship in March, 1943. He sought £910 18/ special damages and £750 general damages, alleging negligence on the part of the company and its servants.
