HIGHER NET PROFIT
WHITTOME, STEVENSON AND CO. A net profit of £2451 (after taxation), compared with £2186 last year and £1887 in 1943. is shown in the accounts of Whittome, Stevenson and Co., Ltd., for the year ended June 30. The result is reached after providing for depreciation of buildings, etc., reserving £7175 for deferred maintenance and writing off all bad and doubtful debts. The sum of £5820 has been set aside for taxes (£3O4S last vear), leaving £2451, which, added to the carry-forward, gives £4103. The directors recommend a dividend of G per cent (unchanged), which absorbs £1845, leaving £2258 to be carried forward.
