TE AROHA CLUB'S YEAR
NO ELECTION FOR PRESIDENT
The income and expenditure account of the Te Arolia Jockey Club for the past season shows an excess of expenditure of £157 after writing off for depreciation and £64 for bad debts, is set out in the report which is to he presented at the annual meeting on Wednesday next by Mr. J. A. Hepburn, chairman of the committee. The annual race meeting last. February had resulted in a profit of £2373, stated Mr. Hepburn, the totalisator investments amounting to £72,686 10/, while the sum of £6392 had been paid in taxation. Regret was expressed at the deaths during the vear of the president, Mr. R. L. Soiners, and Messrs. Grey George, P. E. Harney, M. Horgan, T. J. R°ac i-, RRoss, J. P. Sheenhan and W. J. Wright (members). _ As Mr. J. P. Somcrs was the rnl> nomination for president, he would be declared elected, While there would be no election for vice-presidents, Messrs. J. A. Hepburn. G. P. Goodfellow and G. 11. Murphy being unopposed. An election would be necessary for the committee, five nominations having been received for the four seats to be filled. Ihese were: Messrs. L. W. Davis, J. Kenny and C. G. Wyborn (retiring members), W . J. Towers and W. A. Voysey.
