SHEEP INDUSTRY

FRESH.INQUIRY DESIRED O.C. WELLINGTON, Sunday. The setting up of a Royal Commission to investigate the sheep industry was urged by the New Zealand Farmers' Union annual conference. Mr. A. B. Moore (Whangarei) said a commission was sitting when war began and certain interests took advantage of the position to intervene. They wanted a fresh commission which would make known the whole truth about the country's pastoral position. Mr. L. T. Daniell (Wairarapa) said they did not want a commission of union secretaries and office-trained men. There should be fair representation of practical farmers.
