PEACE OFFER FROM JAPAN Rec. 10 a.m. NEW" YORK, July 1, The acting-Secretary of State, Mr. J C Grew, has categorically denied that any offer of peace has been received from Japan, either'through official or unofficial channels. Mr. Grew issued this statement.in v-sply- to Senator Capehart, who tola the Senate that the Japanese .. had recently made an offer which would be agreeable to me.' . . Senator Capehart asked: If ■ the Japanese agreed to .give up all conquered territory, including Mmchuria would that not be all right?
