Last Jap.-Held Port On Luzon ENEMY FORCE POCKETED Rec. 1 p.m. WASHINGTON, June 22. American forces on Luzon have captured Aparri, the last port held by the Japanese, says a com.munique from General Mac Arthur. Aparri is on the northern coast of Luzon and "is just 250 miles south of the tip of Formosa. Its capture seals off a big Japanese force still holding out in the Cagayan Valley.

The American 37th Division, securing the area surrounding Ilagon on Luzon, routed an enemy forpe four miles to the south-east and destroyed eight flame-throwing tanks, adds the communique.
