U.S. MARINE COMMANDS
GENERAL GEIGEB'S NEW POST Rec.-ll a.m. WASHINGTON, June 22. Lieutenant-General Roy S. Geiger, who succeeded General Buckner as tactical commander on Okinawa when General Buckner was killed during the week-eijd, has been appointed commander of the Pacific Fleet marine force, succeeding lieu-tenant-General Holland Smith, who has been transferred to the Marine Training Replacement Command at San Diego.
