OBITUARY

MR. G. BARTHOLOMEW O.C. FEILDING, this day. A well-known Feilding resident, Mr George Bartholomew, has died at the age of 88. Born in Paisley, Scotland, Mr. Bartholomew lived in Australia before coming to Ne*w Zealand, where he and his brother started business as sawmillers in Feilding. The firm later became known as the Feilding Sash and Door Company, of which Mr. Bartholomew was for many years managing director. A keen sportsman in his youth, Mr. Bartholomew later became interested in bowls, and was a foundation member of the Feilding Bowling Club. He was an elder of the Presbyterian Church. Mr. Bartholomew is survived ,by his wife, three sons and one daughter.
