REMUERA HOUSE SALE

APPEAL COURT'S DECISION

Consent to the sale of a house at 23, Rangitoto Avenue, Remuera, at £2750 was sought by Alfred E. Saunders (Mr. RObb) in the Land Sales Appeal Court yesterday in an appeal against a decision of the Auckland Committee fixing the basic value at £24X5. The purchaser was liaisy A Knight. Mr. Robb led evidence that the limits huilt in 1930, was bought by tffpresent vendor for £2600 in 1943. and that the present replacement cost was very much increased. Mr W/S. Kent, for the Crown, submitted that the Court had to work on $42 values, and that it was ma perioa of rising prices when £2600 was paid for the property in 1943. Replacement had to be at 1942 costs. The Court gave consent to a sale at £2600. ■■•-■
