OVER FIFFTY U-BOATS AT ST. NAZAIRE

ALL TAKEN INTACT Evidence Of Nazi Efforts To Intensify Sea War N.Z. Press Association —Copyright Rec. 1 p.m. LONDON, May 14. Paris radio reports that French forces, after occupying -St. Nazaire, have taken over intact more than 50 German U-boats, besides 12 submarine chasers. Warnings by Allied leaders that the Germans in the last months of the war were attempting to intensify U-boat warfare we're well founded, says the Exchange Telegraph correspondent in Hamburg. There are hundreds of prefabricated sections of submarines along 30 miles of derelict wharves in Hamburg. Their potentialities for adding to the frightfulness of the war were weakened by Allied bombing and ended when British troops occupied the port.

Fifteen U-boats have now surrendered at United Kingdom ports, says the Press Association. The number includes eight which were sent to Londonderry after reporting at other ports.

A U-boat, the crew of which did not know until yesterday that Germany had capitulated, sailed in and surrendered at Dundee. The Üboat's wireless was out of order.

A German minesweeper on its maiden voyage, arrived at the Firth of Forth carrying four German naval captains and three pilots, who are handing over to the British authorities details of the naval dispositions and minefields in the Skager-Rak and the Kaittegat.

A Copenhagen message says that Danish patriots in the Durmeister and Wain shipyards have captured five ' German armed auxiliary i cruisers. The patriots disarmed 250 ' German naval men, who refused to surrender.
