FOR WOMEN PRETTY WEDDING
MERFIELD—CAMPBELL IVORY TAFFETA WORN The marriage of Miss Phyllis Campbell, daughter of Mr. Colin Campbell and the late Mrs. Campbell, of New Plymouth, to Mr. Steve Merfield, son of Mrs. E. Simp:son, of Auckland, took place at St. Andrew's Church, Symonds Street, recently. The Rev. David N. Pryor officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of ivory stiffened taffeta fashioned into a tight-fitting quilted jacket with a bouffant skirt. Her tulle veil was caught to the head with orange blossom, and she carried a prayer book with a shower of cream waterlilies. Miss B. Petherbridge, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid and wore a frock of ivory dimity spotted with green. She had water-lilies in her hair. Mr. Bill Ackroyd was best man. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Mount Eden Tea Kiosk, where the guests were received by the bride's sister, Mrs. G. Knuckey, who wore a cinnamon suit. Assisting her was the bridegroom's mother, who was in a black ensemble.
