PRESENTATION MADE
RETIRING COUNTY CLERK O.C. DARGAVILLE, Friday. A complimentary dinner was given by the Hobson County Council to Mr. John Hogg, who is retiring from the position of county clerk after 36 years' service. The principal speakers were Messrs. F. Wordsworth, county chairman, W. L. Hughes, Mayor of Dargaville, A. E. Harding, a former county chairman, and J. H. McCarrol, a former county councillor. Mr. Hogg was made the recipient of. a monetary gift from members of the council. It is Mr. Hogg's intention to devote himself to the growing of oranges and to the activities of-the Dargaville Bowling Club, of which he is a foundation member and for many years the patron. Mr. Hogg was first secretary of the Northern Wairoa Co-op. Dairy Co. from 1902 to 1909, when he left to join the Hobson County Council.
