AHEAD OF SCHEDULE

NEW ZEALANDERS'. ADVANCE

IN THE FIELD, April 11. Scheduled to be across the Banterno by to-night the New Zealand Division had forced the river on the greater part of its front by this afternoon. The division was the spearhead of the Eighth Army attack from the beginning and an outstanding bridging feat on the night of April 9 proved an important factor in the army's advance because the New Zealanders provided enough bridges to get all their own material across the Senio River quickly and also to permit flanking divisions to rush material across some New Zealand bridges. To-night a thunderous roll of guns runs along the front as the great battle to destroy the German armies in Italy continues.
