FALL FROM EIRE ESCAPE Reserved judgment was given by Mr. Justice Callan in the case in which a jury in November found for Stanley Speed, painter (Mr. Gould), in a claim for damages against F. V. Home, hotelkeeper (Mr. A. K. North), consequent on injuries caused by a fall from a fire escape when working at the City Club hotel, and assessed damages at £2000 general and £1300 special. Legal argument was heard by his Honor last month, when Mr. North, for defendant, moved for a non-suit or, alternatively, for a new trial, and Mr. Gould moved for judgment. His Honor to-day, after an exhaustive review of the evidence and of the authorities cited in legal argument, gave judgment for the plaintiff according to the verdict of the ■ juryj
