CANTERBURY v. WEI/LINGTON P.A. WELLINGTON, this day. The Canterbury - Wellington cricket match was opened in fair weather, the wicket being easy after a shower. Canterbury during the first 100 minutes put on 123 for one wicket, Cromb and Hadlee betting freely. Batting brilliantly, Cromb and Hadlee put on 160 for the second wicket, Cromb being clean bowled when Duffy was brought to the attack. The score at lunch was 183 for three.
