The cleaned cores are now sized. They are graded according to their diametrical measurements, so as to ascertain approximately the amount of winding required for each ball.
Recovering with caps made of balata, an "ersatz" material which supplements the meagre allocation of rubber for golf ball covers. The pressure of the clamp seals the two caps together and completes the recovering process.
