Trooping The Colour
: DISPLAY AT OTAHUHU Repetition at Eden Park To-morrow Afternoon The spectacle of pomp and page■an try that the peopie of Otahuhu had been ]ed to expect, from the Trooping of the Colour ceremonial, produced at Sturges Park this afternoon under the direction of Mr. A. D. Lynch, on behalf of the local K.S.A.. exceeded expectations.. The ceremony opened with the column, I consisting of the colour bearers. I Misses Mary Tringham (N.Z. En- ; sign), Coral Palmer (I'nion Jack), ; Helen Gibson LA.ustraiian Ensicn), ; Joan Jorgensen (U.S.A.) and Merle Greenvay (Allied National), all specially trained, the colour parry. Auckland interhouse marching Teams, the armed escort of King's : College, cadets, the R.N.Z.A.F. and I the Auckland Highland Pipe Bands ! advancing in review order. The presentation of each colour then took place., the band playing airs ■ of each country for the presentations j of the Stars and Stripes, the Australian En'sign, the New Zealand En- ! sign and the Union Jack. The armed escort then gave a salute to the colour, and the colour bearers and armed escort -with fixed bayonets advanced through the column." Each section of the column then paid compliments to the colours, the cadets j of the R.X.Z.A.F. band advancing at : a slow march. The colours were then trooped through the open flanks oi the cadets. : The whole column then formed ur> i for the march past, headed by the i colour bearers and escort "They ■were joined by the Interhouse marching teams and V.A.D. personnel.
