NEW ZEALAND LONG-DRIVING J - CHAMPION.
Alf Guy, one of the most colourful personalities in New Zealand golf, has now returned to New Zealand after four years' service in the Middle East. Guy will be remembered for his phenomenal success in the New Zealand Long-Driving Championships, winning this event no fewer than six years out of seven prior to his' going overseas. He is present holder, with Weir, of the - New Zealand Professional Foursomes Championship,,was several times runner-up in the New Zealand' Professional Championship; Guy has probably the best average in these events over a period of years of any professional in New Zealand, and has numerous subsidiary championships to his credit. ' "''.:'■ \ Guy is looked upon by those who know as one of the most promising aspirants for the New Zealand Open and Professional Titles when competitions resume in the near future.
In addition to his playing qualities, Guy has had very wide experience in coaching under the auspices of the New Zealand Golf Council. Alf Guy has now joined the famous Wiseman's Team of Golf Professionals—Arthur Girling, Alex. Murray and Mac. McCormick—as a Professional Coach at the Golf School at Wiseman's Sports Stores, Queen Street.- He will also be coaching during week-ends and mid-week, at the Akarana Golf Club. There will be many Auckland golfers who will be anxious* to take the ' opportunity of having tuition from this unusual and outstanding , professionaL
