PROTEST BY R.S.A.
TREND IN APPOINTMENTS P.A. DUNEDIN, this day. A protest against what was described as the growing tendency for non-servicemen to be appointed to important positions arising out of war circumstances, was lecorded at a meeting of the executive committee of the Punedin Returned Services' Association. The committee particularly criticised the recent appointment of Mr. C. Morrison as secretary-treasurer of Corso. The following resolution was adopted:— "That the Dunedin R.S.A. is astounded at the growing sequence of appointments of non-servicemen to positions arising out of war circumstances, and Dominion headquarters be asked to make a vigorous protest against the latest appointment of the secretary-treasurer of Corso. The association further asks headquarters to inquire whether such position was advertised and (or) offered to the Rehabilitation Department for filling before the appointment was made of Mr. C. Morrison."
