CHAIRMAN TO RESIGN
Advice of his intention to resign from the office of chairman of the Auckland Provincial Joint Committee of the Order of St. John and the Red Cross Society at the next meeting was given by Sir Ernest Davis in a letter read at a meeting of the committee last evening. In expressing appreciation of the help and cooperation he had" received from members of the joint committee, Sir Ernest pointed out that a greatly increased burden of business had fallen on him recently, and he had been advised by his doctor to ease up.
