Holland. Agate, the New Zealam sprint champion, raced into third place ii his heat of the 100 yards, but he did no contest the final. K. W. Greville, tloubli winner at Wellington last week, made ; bold bid to win the half-mile, but hi found the handicap too severe am finished third just ahead of J. Ward, of the five yards mark. W. G. Heron, in an endeavour to im prove on his New Zealand figures for thi pole vault, narrowly failed to clear llf B£in. N. R. Ambler, Auckland mile Cham pion, ran what must have been the fastes mile of the Auckland season when h< finished second to Opperman in 4.25. I was a splendid performance.
