PRISONERS OF WAR MILLIONS OF PARCELS
SOME MEN REPORTED SAFE P.A. WELLINGTON, this day. In addition to information already published concerning the fact that lorries carrying Red Cross supplies had left Geneva for Germany, the Prisoners of War Inquiry Office has been advised that in Switzerland and southern European ports there are stocks amounting to approximately four million Red Cross food parcels. Another million parcels are at Lubeck and two million at Gothenburg. At the International Red Cross at Geneva large stocks of clothing and other goods are on hand. The inquiry office headquarters also advises that of the prisoners recently reported to be safe in Odessa, six were from Stalag XX.A and others from Stalag VIII.B. During last week two more prisoners formerly located at PGIO6 and whose whereabouts had been unknown since the time of the capitulation of Italy, have made their escape to the Allied lines. A prisoner who was located in Hungary has also been reported safe.
