RADIO APPEALS

"lam not very happy in regard to the radio appeal system of collecting funds, and I have a suspicion that some people who promise over the air to make a contribution do not oav it in to the collectors," said Mr. C *T. Smith, chairman of the Marlborough Provincial Patriotic Council at the annual meeting, reports the "Marlborough Express." The matter was brought up when a letter was read from the New Zealand Patriotic Council dealing with the radio appeal for this year. Mr. Smith said it seemed desirable that the zones use the radio appeal for their annual effort, but he hoped that anybody who made a promise over the air would contact the zone representative and hand the mon°v over to him.
