Sales tax collected in New Zealand last year amounted to £13.816.851. a record. This compares with £12.269.747 in 1943. The amount levied In 1944 for ordinary revenue purposes, that Is. the original rate of 5 per cent, was £4.137.945. The amount levied for war finance last year , was £9.678.903. against £8.646.752 in 1943.
