MILITARY WEDDING
MITCHELL —GRANT
BRIDE IN MAGNOLIA SATIN
The wedding took place at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Otahuhu, of Miss Joan Grant, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Grant of Paeroa, to Sergeant Eric Mitchell, returned from Pacific, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Mitchell, of Paeroa. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Shore. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a beautiful gown of magnolia satin. A spray of orange blossom held her tulle veil in place and she carried a sheaf of Christmas lilies and gladioli. As matron of honour, Mrs. Bert Gladman, of Otahuhu, wore a frock of powder blue georgette made with a pin-tucked yoke and full skirt. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations and roses and blue cornflowers. The best man was Corporal Neville Beaurepaire, of Te Aroha. The reception was held at Gardiner's tearooms, Otahuhu, where the guests were received by Mrs. Grant, wearing a black silk suit accented with white, a spray to tone and black accessories. Mrs. Mitchell was in a navy frock trimmed with white, matching spray and navy accessories.
