GREYMOUTH, this day. It was fortunate for the connections of Grand Forest, the easy winner of the Kumara Racing Club Handicap, that Lord Advocate and Paitrey were weighted for the Hannan Memorial, to be run at Omoto to-morrow, when the Greymouth Jockey Club will hold its summer meeting. Had they not been nominated, Grand Forest would have been at the top of the list with 9.0, whereas now he heads the handicap with 8.4, Lord Advocate and Palfrey having dropped out. Grand Forest will have a fresh and tougher opposition to fight off, but he is in hard racing condition and looks like carrying on his winning way. Lord Advocate towers above the sprinters opposing him in the seven furlongs Summer Handicap. Weight is a great leveller, but 9.9 should not stop him in this class.
