BUTCHERS' DISPUTE
TEMPORARY SETTLEMENT
POSITION AT NGAHAURANGA
WELLINGTON, this day.
As the result of a temporally settlement killing was resumed at the Ngahauranga freezing works at 10.15 this morning. The manager, Mr. Crichton, stated that a temporary settlement was arranged entirely without prejudice to the'parties in the dispute pending an investigation, and possible slight alterations in the method of killing and possible reference to the national disputes committee. It was hoped to have the lambs held over from yesterday killed to-day. "I wish to add, in justice to the men." he said, "that when it was decided to strike yesterday provision was made for men to continue work in some of the departments to enable perishable goods to be worked and completed."
